What Happens in Bristol, Stays in Bristol!

This weekend was the Hen Weekend of my lovely friend, Tanya.

Wikipedia has described hen's parties as: "A time honoured idea that tea and chitchats, gossip and smart hats, constitute the necessary adjuncts to these particular gatherings"

Her bridesmaids, Kathryn & Beckie had organised an amazing country house near Bristol for a group of 14 ladies to stay in.  It was huge!

Very spacious and perfect for group of have their own space.

Lots of rooms to lounge or to read or just take in the exquisite view of the country side.

By night, this house has its own bar!

And swimming pool!  Yep!

These are the lovely ladies responsible for organising a great weekend including making all our meals!

Lots of Tanya's friends came from all over the UK (and Australia!!) for the event.

Usually on a Hen's weekend, the hens engage in a fun activity that encourages bonding and laughter.  Some hens choose to participate in stripper watching or other penis related activities, however on this very classy and sophisticated weekend, we made antique knickers!  We all popped into the local haberdashery shop that did sewing lessons and fun classes on the side and joined in with the sewing which was accompanied by tea, cake and champers.

Could there be a better plan for an afternoon?

My friend, Tanya is a bit of a perfectionist and this was the face she had on for most of the day.

Here are some pics of the lovely shop

There was concentration all around.  Everyone was very keen to get it right and make fabulous fancy knickers.

It was such an easy sewing task that you'd never in a million years think you'd be able to do and yet there we all were!

And when we were done, we tried them on.  They fit perfectly!

Tea and cake were served and I honestly didn't think the day could get any better!

Job well done ladies!

And thank you to the ladies at Flo-Jo Boutique.

That night we transformed one of the many rooms in the McMansion into a 1920's speakeasy and we all dressed up in appropriate attire.

Then the shoes were kicked off and it was down to the bar for dancing and stag leaps.

A great time was had by all.

Happy Hen Tans
