A Room With a View

The last event of the "Saskia and Shelley's Week of Culture" was a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream staring David Walliams and Sheridan Smith.

Tanya and I met Saskia at the top of the Tate Modern building for a pre theatre drink with a view.  And what a view!

St Paul's Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge

On our way to the theatre we walked along South Bank taking in the street festivities.  There was a Malaysian Festival with food and fashion parades, street performers, pop up food vans and people - lots of people!

Down on the bank of the Thames there was a man doing this

We crossed the bridge and half way over I noticed that something had smashed on the platform under the bridge.  As we got closer all was revealed.  They were smashed skateboards.  There is a section of South Bank where skaters do their thang and this is obviously the best place to store those boards that are not up to the job any longer.  Or perhaps it was 'art'..... I'm never sure!

And finally..... we made it to the theatre.

The play was great and David Walliams was excellent.
